No-Proof Pizza Dough – Recipe
I was craving pizza today, but it was already an hour into lunchtime: and I definitely wasn't about to wait for hours to proof a yeasted dough. Being the stubborn person I am, I decided to go ahead and make an unyeasted dough and hope for the best. Actually, it turned out pretty great.
Ready? Let's go.
Ingredients:
250g strong bread flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil
150ml milk
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
Method:
1. Stir all the ingredients together in a bowl until they begin to come together, and knead with your hands to form a smooth dough. Continue to knead for about 15 minutes until elastic, then cover with oiled clingfilm and let rest for 20 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C.Once the dough has rested, roll it out to fit a 14–15" round pizza tray, top with your chosen ingredients and bake for 35 minutes, or until bubbling and golden brown. I reduced some tomato passata with garlic and onion for the sauce, and topped with cheddar, mozzarella, Quorn pepperoni, jalapeños and spring onions.
That's it: easy. Enjoy, and have fun playing around with different toppings.
