Pumpkin Spice Syrup With Real Pumpkin Recipe
My pumpkin spice syrup with real pumpkin recipe is strong, spicy, and not just for pumpkin spice lattes.
Many pumpkin spice syrups you can buy don't actually have any real pumpkin in them. This recipe does, indeed, use real pumpkin for that true pumpkin pie taste. You can use freshly cooked pumpkin purée, but I was lazy and used the canned stuff. It works just as well.
You can use this pumpkin spice syrup recipe for pumpkin spice latte, but also over ice cream and in cocktails too. It's really easy to make too, and just needs one small saucepan and a few minutes.
You don't have to strain the pumpkin spice syrup once you cook it, but it does make it much smoother. The syrup also separates when sitting for a while – just give it a little shake before using and you're good to go!

Ready? Let's go.
Ingredients:
125g caster sugar
125ml water
1 heaped tbsp pumpkin purée
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Method:
1. Stir all the ingredients together in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and boil for five minutes.
2. Press through a sieve, discarding the larger pumpkin fibres and bits of spice, and pour into a clean glass jar.
3. Leave to cool completely before popping the lid on and storing in the fridge.
Enjoy, and have fun.
